A total of 1,678 short films have been submitted to the bureau, 12 of which belong to the provincial film directors, the bureau chief Amin Moradi added.
Of these 12 films, ‘Fish’ directed by Saman Hossein-poor and ‘Cold Smell’ directed by Navid Zaare have been endorsed to take part in the ‘competitive section’ of the final competition.
Three other short films of ‘Fish and Flower’ directed by Zanyar Tahmasebi, ‘Red Light’ by Navid Zaare, and a documentary by Zanyar Lotfi earned the license to take part in the ‘non-competitive’ section of the festival.
Also the animation film ‘No Comment’ by Reza Ahmad-yari, fiction ‘This Is an Emergency’ by Amir Ahmadzadeh, and documentary ‘Hope’ by Nooshin Namdari are three other short films that have earned entry into the competitive section.
The selected films will also be screened in Tehran Azadi Movie Theater complex.
